Tired of taking 30 minutes to apply to one job? Sick of spending 30 minutes each to apply for 50 jobs with ridiculous qualification expectations with the hope that some how your 6 months of interning will somehow equal their 7+ year requirements? At your wits end with spending 30 minutes each to apply for those 50 jobs and maybe hearing back from one?
It’s time to ditch that 8×10 U.S. Letter Resume. Joe Budzienski is about to change your world. Continue reading »
Perfecting a craft is a life’s work…especially when it has to be delicious.
The time has come that New Englanders are embracing (and craving for) the local underdog whose life’s work is providing the public with a game-changing palette necessity… craft beer.
Trade, the innovative restaurant co-owned by Rialto’s Jody Adams, has taken the opportunity to celebrate Boston’s latest revolution in what Bostonians are drinking and who’s creating it by founding Trade Craft— a beverage appreciation forum of sorts to bring enthusiasts and creators together at the same table for good conversation and great tastes. “I’m happy being anonymous.”
Those were the words told to us by a man whose designs have been worn for decades by pop culture’s greats, such as, Audrey Hepburn, Julie Andrews, Joan Kennedy, Nancy Reagan, Joan Collins, Ann Romney… just to name a few.
The late Alfred Fiandaca became a preferred fashion designer to some of the most affluent women in politics and entertainment in the last half century and whose stylings have become as timeless and beloved as the women who wear them. Before he passed on February 9th in his Palm Beach home at age 72, the East Boston native sat down with us to share his thoughts on his lifetime of achievements. Though, don’t expect any basking in the glory of being a favorite of powerful and beautiful women. Fiandaca was in love with the fashion…not fame.
“I’ve only worked maybe 14 days in my life. Because everyday is a joy. I don’t work. I just do what I do and have a good time doing it,” said Fiandaca. Continue reading »
What happens when you mix former WFNX employees and City Hall Plaza with some Fun.?
BUY
Jessica Chastain
Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Jess, over here, nailed it. Dressed in an Armani Privé gown, Christian Louboutin shoes and jewelry by Harry Winston, this Jessica Rabbit look-a-like is everything Hollywood glamour is about– grace and poise with flair. Now, if this was just a dress contest, it would probably land her on the borrow list but– my oh my– is that style execution or what, my friends?! Continue reading »

You’ve heard his song “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah,” quite possibly, two hundred times in the past few months as Apple hounded holiday shoppers to buy iPod mini’s, bouncing in every which direction across television screens.
But Willy Moon is not just your average one-commercial hit artist.
The 23-year old New Zealand native is one of the most anticipated artists for 2013 landing on countless to-be-watched lists including Vogue’s 2013 Hot List. His cool, demure look infiltrates his fashion and demeanor as if he has just stepped out of a 1960’s Parisian Nouvelle Vauge film— have you seen that pout???
But he is no retro crooner. Continue reading »
Opposites attract and, this year, hair-ology of the fashion world has pinned together polarized looks that have resulted in a passionate tango featuring low and sleek and messy and free. Said looks have intertwined through a few generations of hair styling but now, they’re hitting center stage (and runways) as a major role in fashion drama. Shall we dance?

Tonight, A&E is gracing the nation with a display lacking r’s and chock full o’ attitude that is titled ‘Southie Rules,’ a reality show depicting the ‘average’ South Boston yuppy-hating, Irish-loving family. The premiere comes just days after Robert De Niro announced his new Showtime series featuring Southie as the playground for a young neo-Nazi regime sending residents and politicians, on the city and state level, into outrage.
Booties have already kicked their way into spring 2013 collections and are slated to pack a statement punch when the season strikes. This booty is versatility to the max. With reasonably unique construction and material that can accent just about any daytime spring look, I can see it worn flawlessly with sundresses, shorts, skinnies. They can be dressed up, dressed down in the city, or rocked by the water in a beach town. The mash up of snakeskin, linen and wood create perfect balance between rock star and beach bum. Cash or check please! I’m BUYing! Continue reading »

I regretfully write this as I am thoroughly saddened that I have to. Something has crept into our society that could have tragic consequences. I am speaking of the unforgivable introduction of ‘meggings’ into street style or any style for that matter.
Never heard of that term? Break it down— Man. Leggings.
Meggings have been getting press recently because of celebs such as Justin Bieber, Lenny Kravitz, and Russell Brand have been spotted in these things. But I, and I would like to think the fashion industry, generally don’t really look to The Brand and The Biebs as trend inspiration. So we move on. Yes? No. Continue reading »
