Happy start to the fashion season everyone. There are a lot of new looks out there, many good but many to think twice about. As a self-confessed “shopper” I’m keeping an eye on trends for styleboston and don’t worry, it’s not all about my purchases. My favorite thing to say to myself is “That looks good, on her.” So as I tromp around the boutiques and malls of Greater Boston I’ll be posting regular observations and suggestions. We’re calling it “Emily’s List.” That title is taken you say? Too bad. Here we go:
One earring can look cute if it’s big and makes a statement.
Over-the-knee boots flatter no one – with Gisele being the exception.
Try M.Miller for sexy warm parkas with a fur flare – made in Boston’s South End.
The lace look has had it.
Check out the little leather skirts by Vince.
Milly, Tahari and Trina Turk make the most flattering shift dresses.
Neon is back. Wear with caution, or only when biking.
Uggs are Ugh. Sorry, Tom, these don’t work – except around the house.
Jackets by A.L.C and IRO are to die for.
Oversized is all the rage but avoid if you are.
The best place to load up on everyday jewelry – Folklorica in Newton Center.
Forget Alaia – go for knockoffs like Shoshana and Scoop.
