A clear 50s nod in a distinctly modern treatment: delicate lace in a saturated scarlet, with just enough feminine detail to declare ‘I’m here’ without saying ‘look at me.’ A fitted bodice, sheer sleeves, an elegantly gathered, nipped waist, and a scalloped, knee-grazing hem. Pearls would be too obvious; instead, pair it back to sky-high nude pumps (à la Brian Atwood or the unimpeachably chic Christian Louboutin), a lacquer-red, thin patent belt, and strong, structural cuffs in an antiqued finish. Mr. Borgo has the market cornered there, and we, well, we’re fine with that.
